“The room was very spacious with high ceilings and we made use of the "snack box" provided in each room. When we arrived, there were complimentary Welsh cakes on the bed! Staff were very friendly and the location was perfect for us. A very walkable distance from the city centre and from the University great Hall building where we were going to a concert. Checkout wasn't until 11 and breakfast was served until 12 which is brill! Thanks for a lovely stay”

“A nice pub with rooms, but watch where you park. The upsides: The rooms are clean, well decorated and come with nice touches. There is a thoughtful snack larder, a Nespresso machine and proper tea. The hotel is located within walking distance of cool restaurants and cafes. Ogof and Milkwood are worth checking out. The downsides: We arrived during a heatwave. The rooms are very hot with no air con, but a fan was provided. BEWARE of where you park and AVOID the Sophia's Garden Car Park at all costs. Our truck was broken into despite being under CCTV. The cops suggested it was the 7th break-in that week and they can't catch the criminals.”

“The hotel and the pub come highly recommended. The rooms are spacious, attractive and thoughtfully furnished. The hotel is spotlessly clean and is clearly well maintained. The staff, whether at reception, at the bar or in housekeeping, are always attentive and extremely friendly. Everyone is understanding when tourists (like me) can’t always follow what the locals are saying and have to ask for clarification with a questioning look on their face.”
